Conditional Formatting Task Bar options

Allow conditional formatting of the Task Bar even if the entire row is not selected for formatting. Currently if I format an entire row with Navy fill based on it being a parent - because in the Grid/Gantt view I want easy identification of parent rows - the fill carries over into the Gantt and I have to select a different Task Bar color so that it doesn't blend in with the Navy fill of the full row. It also makes the Gantt an eyesore. As as workaround I have to create 2 conditional formatting rules, one to fill only the actual fields I want highlighted in the grid, and another at the entire row level with no fill and the Task Bar color selected as Navy. Having the ability to select task bar color even when I've not applied formatting to an entire row would save the rework

  • I need this as well! I want to apply the same formatting to just a column and the task bar. It seems you can only set the conditional formatting rule for the task bar as a standalone format, or have it match the entire row. I want to set the format to the Status column and have that reflected in the task bar.
