Why can't I filter a report that is shared in a Work App?

I have created a report and shared it in a Work App (Using editor settings). Yet when I preview the report, I cannot use the filter function for this report. Can someone help me out to figure why this is occurring?

There currently isn't a way to filter reports in WorkApps - I found a similar idea post here: Ability to Filter and Export in Workapps. Please add your vote to this idea if it matches your request. You’ll then receive updates when the status of the idea changes! 

If the request provided doesn’t quite match your suggestion, please create a new Idea Post in the Smartsheet Product Feedback and Ideas topic. This will allow other users to vote on your enhancement idea!

In the meantime, you can add/edit filters on the report itself, save the report, and refresh the WorkApp in order to see the filtered report.
