I use timeline view to plan dates up to a year in advance. It currently defaults to the current date and I have to scroll all the way to future/past dates. It would be very helpful to have a "jump to date" feature.

This is a great idea. Scrolling is such a slow manual task. You could expand on this idea by adding dynamic date range button(s) to quickly select the current year or "Last 5 Years" or Next Year, etc.
It would be great to be able to use the calendar to jump quickly and easily to another date rather than having to scroll. The function to be able to 'go to today' is great but to be able to move to any date easily would be super helpful.
