I use timeline view to plan dates up to a year in advance. It currently defaults to the current date and I have to scroll all the way to future/past dates. It would be very helpful to have a "jump to date" feature.

This is a great idea. Scrolling is such a slow manual task. You could expand on this idea by adding dynamic date range button(s) to quickly select the current year or "Last 5 Years" or Next Year, etc.
