Dynamic View is not finding users when trying to @mention

Users that are shared to the Dynamic View cannot be @mentioned.
In fact, one user in question can CREATE a comment but then can't be found when @mentioned. How is this possible?

Hi @Ami Veltrie,
To @mention a user in Dynamic View, the user must be shared to the source sheet, and youβll need to type out the full email rather than the contact name - see this related thread.Β
However, thereβs an existing idea post for this request here: Dynamic View Comments notifications for user without access to source sheet. Please add your vote to this idea - youβll then receive updates when the status of the idea changes!Β
Thanks,
Georgie

@Georgie Hello!
Thank you for your response. Isn't one of the main 'benefits' of Dynamic View that you DON'T have to share the source sheets with users? I'm pretty sure it's working in most cases but my example above just adds further confusion.

Hi @Ami Veltrie,
Yes, Dynamic View will allow users who arenβt shared to the source sheet to see data related to them from the source sheet. Itβs only the @mention feature that requires users to be shared to the source sheet.Β
I understand that being able to @mention users who arenβt shared to the source sheet would make sense for Dynamic View. If you havenβt already, Iβd encourage you to add your vote and a comment with your reasons on why this feature would be so useful on the product idea here: Dynamic View Comments notifications for user without access to source sheet. Adding your reasons will give our Product team more insight into why customers would love to have the feature implemented!
Thanks,
Georgie
