Creating intake form for Die #'s

Hi,

I am trying to figure out a way to make a manual die # entry form electronic with Smartsheet. The problem I am facing is that there are different die types. Each die type has a different nomenclature, some of which is not consistent. The current workbook is Excel. Each die type is a tab on the workbook. Each sheet has different columns. There is even extra information at the top of the sheet for some of the dies. I am thinking it would be impossible to recreate what they have in SS. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Freda

Perhaps you could have a dropdown menu with the different die #s.

Then, based on the selection that is made, set up some logic rules in the form that will then display the appropriate fields (i.e the different columns in the various tabs) for that particular die #. Only the fields that you need for that particular die # will be displayed.

You can even have the extra information you need by including extra Heading/Description fields for each die # set to the appropriate logic rule.

The problem is, every time they need a new die, they put in a different number.

Each type of die has its own numbering system.

I thought about a drop down for each numbering system, but I would need it to auto number for that die type.

Is there a way to do that?
