COUNTIF with CONTAINS Error – Looking for a Solution

@Paul Newcome Fiddled with that for a bit which is why I decided to put it into the AI formula generator to see if it could tell me what I was doing wrong. Anywho, I put the HAS function in and things are working well.
I just tried CONTAINS again and it worked 🤷 User error I am sure.

In know this is an old thread, I too am having issues getting this to work. I plugged the formula into the AI tool and it kicked back an error stating CONTAINS cannot be used as a criteria for COUNTIF.

@Matt G. Contains most certainly can be used as a criteria. I do this all the time.
=COUNTIFS({Range}, CONTAINS("text to search for", @cell))

The AI formula piece still has some learning to do, but I'm glad you were able to find a working solution.
