API - Limit User Access to one report

I'm new to using Smartsheet and currently have access to one report. I’d like to access this report via the API, and I’m reaching out to check if it’s possible to get the necessary API access.

However, I’ve heard from someone that API access can’t be restricted to a single report. I’ve looked through the Smartsheet documentation but couldn’t find any clear information confirming this. Could you please help clarify:

• Is it possible to grant API access limited to just one specific report?
• If yes, is there any documentation or guidance available on how to configure this?

The only way to limit API access is to limit what is shared to the account using the API. For example, I cannot use the API to access anything on your account because I am not shared to anything on your account. But if you were to share me to a single sheet, I would only be able to access that single sheet on your account through the API.
