PowerAutomate - Insert row

I am using the the Smartsheet Connector in Power Automate.

It all works fine, if I am using "insert row" with a fixed sheet name.

But if i want to use a dynamic sheet ID, am ask for row

Can anybody help me, what values in which format I have to put in this field. I could not find any documentation.

I actually changed course a bit.
I created a flow that will
- save excel attachment from email to Sharepoint
- create a table in the excel, update column name of column A, insert column to right of newly named Column A and name is (run script A)
- Install CONCAT formula in newly created column (run script B)
- use Data Shuttle to update Smartsheet with new rows from excel

The excel file is deleted every day as I receive a new email with attachment each day at 7:15 am (ish)

I have 2 other flows in this process;
- one that moves the file to an archive folder in the afternoon
- another to delete all files from archive folder every Monday morning

Seems to be working very well. :)

@Gabi I do lots of power automate to SMAR but I normally do it over the HTTP call module not the built in. I also do tons of Bridge and custom integrations over the API. The standard format for the API is

https://api.smartsheet.com/2.0/sheets/{sheetID}/rows

There is no {row ID} parameter to insert a row as the ID is created when SMAR receives the data. You can see in the official SMAR documentation

https://developers.smartsheet.com/api/smartsheet/openapi/rows/rows-addtosheet

The only time row id's are required is when you do updates and deletes, because you need to tell it what row you want to change.

Anyways all that said, whenever you do have a row id needed, the type is "number" or "int" so you can do a parse on a string to convert it.

I might have time later today to try it with the built in action, just note the built in ones do not bulkify so you are always doing 1 call to 1 row, ie the are inefficient at large scale.

I am trying to use Power Automate to insert rows from an excel document to Smartsheet.
The excel doc is the product of an automated report from another platform.
I am trying to use 'list rows present in a table', however, the problem is that the excel does not have a defined table.
I'm obviously missing something fairly elemental but can't figure out exactly what?

Can you help?

@PeggyLang, if it's just a handful of Smartsheets, you can add a Switch control to the Power Automate flow, and then configure a Case for each sheet.

@PeggyLang you can use one of two methods, the first is to convert your data set to table to enable the table APIs to work the way you want. Or you can use the get range API's but these have no schema data so it is a little more prone to users breaking. For the built in functions in PA you basically are limited to table only. Either someone needs to prep the dataset with table or you will need atleast 1 custom call to swap it to table.
