Dashboard Reports Not Auto Refreshing when health ball formula changes color

Hi,

I am struggling with this issue: my dashboard reports sometimes do not automatically update when a row level health ball color (formula driven) changes on the underlying sheet.

This is disconcerting because when this happens the dashboard is reflecting outdated data.

I am noticing this because my dashboard reports show task level heath ball colors and there is a mismatch between the report display and the data within the underlying sheet.

If it wasn't for the health ball color mismatch it would be very difficult to spot the problem.

For example I have a report that lists tasks that are PAST END DATE. For these tasks, when the end date passes the health ball changes to RED in the underlying sheet correctly. But on the dashboard they still show the previous colors of either GREEN (on track) or YELLOW (past start).

I have tried refreshing the dashboard and also separately the reports to no avail. The mismatch persists.

However, updating anything within the underlying sheet and saving causes the reports to update correctly.

Having to manually inspect each dashboard and then update/save the underlying sheet to force the report refresh is not a viable option.

Any help, solution or workaround would be very much appreciated.

Hi @Halina W

On the source sheets, add a hidden helper column for today. Then set up an automation that auto-fills todays date in that column everyday at midnight or 6am or whenever it makes the most sense for you. That will cause the sheet to refresh and could fix your issue. This fix to the issue is common with date driven update issues in Smartsheet. If you search around there are a few other ways to refresh the sheets daily as well.
