Switching Sheet Ownership with user left the company

I'm trying to remove some members who have left the company from my account, however I can't because they are sheet owners. I've gone to the sheet and requested ownership, I get the email for me to accept or reject ownership. Then I receive an email with the following message.
We were unable to process your request to make malinda.rawes@revlon.com the owner of the sheet named "OCM Endeavor Wave 2 Plan" because sharing permissions have changed since it was sent.
How do I fix this?

Mrawes if you are sysadmin you do this from admin not from sheet UI

I was trying to change in the Admin section, but I received an error telling me I could remove them at this time because they are sheet owners.

hi @Mrawes,
if you try to take the license from the person who left the company there will be popup window asking to whom shall all those items be moved. So this is the fastest way.
