Is there a way to make details required when a project task due date is changed?

On a project sheet, I want to capture when and why a due date has changed for any given task. Is this possible via a formula in the sheet? A workflow? What is the best practice in capturing this?

    HOW are you capturing that information? You'd need some kind of interface to establish guardrails - e.g. Dynamic View - to make a "reason" field compulsory. If you don't have Dynamic View and people interact directly with the Sheet, you can only use some formulas - for example, capture both ORIGINAL and MODIFIED Due Dates, and collapse those two into a formula column (IF Modified Due is blank, then show original date; if not, show modified date) that would be used for reporting.
