Created a report and want to use groups, but showing empty

When I don't have any group option in my report thousands of items appear, soon as i add a group, everything vanishes. What's up?

I also get this popup message:

"Not finding the rows you're looking for? Try changing the filter criteria or sort order…"

Hello Tracy,

When this happens to me, it is because the report has too many rows to display. You can do two things:

1. Filter the criteria so there are less rows (this will allow the rows under each group to be present), or
2. If you export to Microsoft Excel, it will show you what you are looking for (not only the headers of the groups).

This is a limitation within Smartsheet. I am not sure if it is on their radar to update.
