Why has automation notified me now instead of 30 days before

Below is extract from sheet as you can see the date for expiry is July for employee Karl N. Automation is set to run 30 days before that date but I have received a notification today 28/04 not 30 days before. Any ideas why?

Hello @Admin, going by your screenshots above, your workflow above says the trigger is set for 30 days before the bullying and harassment expiry date which is 5/21 here and so the workflow would notify you on 4/21 ideally which is 30 days before this date. Since you set this workflow up on 4/28, it immediately sent you the alert based on the expiry date of 5/21.

Hello sorry it is not the one in orange it is the one below in green which has notified me that is expres in 30 days but the expiry is July 25.

Did you manually run the workflow? If so, manually running workflows ignores triggers (30 days before) and only evaluates conditions (of which there are none).

Can't remember if I did now so probably yes I will see if it happens again.
