Automation error

Hi! Needing help with the automation trigger I have set up.

The rule is notify any tasks that has the next 1 day out but has less than 80% and next 3 days less than 50% of progress is complete %. But it is incorrectly triggering a notification for a line that is greater than 85% progress. Can't figure out why this line item is getting added. If someone can help that would be great!

Hi @Jenny.L, just to confirm, is the value being entered as "95" and the column has number formatting to add the % sign. Or is the value being entered as "95%"?

If there are no other conflicting automations, I start to suspect some mismatch between text & number. In the % Complete column, is the 95% entered as 95 or .95 or or as 95% or is there perhaps a leading or trailing space so the value is being read as a text value? If this is indeed a fix, maybe consider converting that column into a Symbol column or a dropdown with specific percentages (and only allow entry within those guidelines) to put a guardrail on how the data for that field is entered.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks Kerry.

There isn't any conflicting automation. I checked the value and there is no space or leading or decimal. I even tried re-entering the value in a different row and re-ran the test. The column is also set to text/number and column type is unchangeable since it is used for schedule calculation. So still scratching my head as to why this is still coming up. Let me know if there are other ideas how I can troubleshoot this one!
