Question on Project Management Office Template

Hi, I have downloaded and started utilising the project management office templates; however, I have encountered an issue.

https://app.smartsheet.com/b/publish?EQBCT=8c1ace8ce2d14472a986005d454626d8

When I create a new Project Template Folder based on the original template and follow the instructions under Setup & Customise, everything works, except that the Start and End Dates of the new projects do not flow throughout the various sheets. Is this a known issue, or is there an additional step I am missing?

Many thanks.

Mark

    hi @MDVolt,

The templates in Smartsheet not always are perfect and there can be some bugs inside.

Did you check how the start / end date columns are linked with other sheets?

Hi Kowal. Thanks for coming back to me.

I followed the references on the formulas, and they seem to be right. However, I am wondering if there is a circular reference. For example, on the Start Date column in the Project Metadata sheet, it appears that it is looking up data from reference tables in the Project Intake Sheet, and then it is also pushing data into it. The other column seem to be working fine, other than the Start and End Dates.

The edit references all refer to ranges in the Project Intake Sheet, and yet it also has a link out to the Project Intake Sheet.

    hi @MDVolt,

if other columns are working right why do not you set up the End and Start Date also to take the data from the proper columns?

Thanks @kowal - appreciate the response.

I've resolved the issue by changing the references in the formulas for the Start Date and End Date, and added some additional steps to get it right. I've picked up a couple of other minor issues with it, and as you say, there are often bugs inside. I think it's just a case of me upskilling in the SmartSheet world.
