need to populate the quarter based on the date

Hi,

I've 3 columns - quarter, quarter beginning, quarter ending and populated these columns as follows:

Q4FY17, 30/4/17, 7/29/17

Q1FY18, 7/30/17, 10/28/17

Q2FY18, 10/29/17, 1/27/18

...

Now, in another sheet, I've a date column. I want to populated the quarter column in this sheet based on the other sheet - depending on the date. i.e., if the date is 11/20/17, it should automatically pick Q2FY18

Can someone please share a easy way to do this?

This can be automated with a nested IF statement, but it must be in the same sheet.

You might consider cell linking to get your date values to your other sheet, then you can use the same nested IF statements in your other sheet to set the fiscal year value. More on cell linking here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/861579-cell-linking
