  • ✅ In my Blueprint, I have a project sheet with summary fields in the right-hand panel.
  • ✅ Also in the Blueprint, I've built a Sheet Summary Report to pull these fields.
  • ✅ In my Blueprint I've connected this to a dashboard.
  • ✅ In Control Center I selected the new report to be included.
  • ❌ But when I provision a project from the Blueprint, the dashboard doesn't link to the summary report data.
  • Can someome help please? screenshot-2025-05-31-at-02-05-16 copy.png

    Hi @PaulaB,

Having tested this on my end, I was unable to reproduce this behaviour.

That is, when I added a sheet summary report in the blueprint folder in Smartsheet, selected this in a report widget on the Dashboard in the blueprint folder, and then added the report to the blueprint in Control Center and provisioned a new project, the sheet summary report shows as expected in the project dashboard, and I confirmed that it points to the new project’s sheet summary report.

It therefore seems that something in your setup may not be quite right. I’d recommend reaching out to our Support team so that a specialist can review your setup and determine what changes need to be made. If you can provide a screen recording showing your entire blueprint setup, both within Control Center and the folder within Smartsheet, that will help them to investigate. They’ll also be able to communicate with you via private channels.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

    Hi Georgie,

Thanks for getting back to me. I had a Pro Desk call but they weren't able to figure it out. I wonder if the issue is because I have 2 widgets linked to the same Summary sheet? Each widget picking different columns?

The Report is successfully created with all correct values. The issue really is the link between the Summary Report and the 2 widgets.

    Thank you!

    Hi @PaulaB,

Apologies - having looked into this again, I realise that I initially misunderstood the issue. I understand that your chart widgets use the data from the sheet summary report, and the chart widgets are not displaying data for new projects that are provisioned.

I have been able to reproduce this same behaviour, both where I have two charts pulling from the same sheet summary report, and where I have only one chart pulling from the sheet summary report - it therefore seems to be an issue with chart widgets pulling data from sheet summary reports when projects are provisioned. Have you been able to get chart widgets working in this way before, using data from sheet summary reports and have them correctly show the data for provisioned projects?

I noticed that you still have a Support case open regarding this issue - please continue to work with the Support team as they will be able to determine the expected behaviour and investigate the cause if this is unexpected.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

Thanks Georgie. Are you able to tell me if this is a bug just so I know if I continue to spend time trying to fix it?

    Thanks!!

    Hi @PaulaB,

Yours is the first report of this behaviour I've come across personally - please continue to work with the Support team, as they are the team who will be able to identify whether or not this is a bug and determine next steps.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

    Hello all,

I'm the Technical Lead here in support that's leading this investigation. We've reproduced the issue internally, and we're working closely with product and engineering to resolve this issue. It seems to specifically occur with chart widgets using a Summary Report as the source with specific fields selected in the widget settings. If using a Row Report, or if selecting All Fields in the widget settings, the chart does not break.

If anybody is experiencing this issue and has not submitted a support case, please create a new case and refer to this community post along with parent case #08376858. Support will then attach your case to the investigation which will help us gauge the impact and prioritize the issue appropriately.

    Best,

    Isaac J, Technical Lead
