Moving sheets out of workspaces into personal sheets folder

I used to be able to move a sheet in workspace to the Sheets folder that is only visible to me, now I can't do that and when I try and save a new sheet to my Sheets folder, I'm not given the option to do that either

When a sheet is created inside a Workspace, it inherits the workspace’s permissions and can't be moved directly to your personal "Sheets" folder anymore.

🛑 Smartsheet restricts moving items out of a workspace if you’re not the Owner or an Admin with appropriate permissions.

👇 Common Reasons You Can't Move a Sheet:

    1. You’re not the Owner of the sheet or workspace.
    2. Admin permissions in the workspace don’t allow removal/movement.
    3. Smartsheet’s newer folder permission model treats workspaces as containers — you can no longer "drag out" sheets freely.

How to Move a Sheet from a Workspace to Your Sheets Folder

If you're the owner or have the right permissions:

🔁 Method 1: Save as New

Create a copy outside the workspace:

    1. Open the sheet you want to move.
    2. Click File → Save as New.
    3. In the dialog, under "Save To", choose "Sheets".
    4. Rename if needed, and click OK.
