Import pdf documents to Smartsheet

Hello All,

I am encountering an issue while trying to import my PDF documents into Smartsheet. It consistently gives me an error indicating that PDF documents cannot be imported.
I attempted to convert the PDFs to both Excel and Word formats, but the content became scrambled in the process.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might successfully import these PDF documents into Smartsheet?

Smartsheet does not support direct PDF imports into sheets. PDFs are only supported as attachments, not as structured data to be parsed into rows/columns. And if the PDF is a scanned image, you’ll need OCR (optical character recognition).

If you just need to store the PDF in Smartsheet:

1. Open the relevant sheet or row.
2. Right-click a row number → Select "Attach Files" → Upload the PDF.
3. It will be stored as a file attachment — viewable/downloadable by collaborators.
