Lost Data
I'm using a sheet to track data on candidate outreach. There are multiple automations set up to record dates.
Yesterday I had the brilliant idea to archive some of the data, the sheet had gotten pretty large over the last 1.5 years of using it, it was taking forever to load. I could have copied and pasted the data into a new sheet, but I decided to create an automation that would archive anything in an inactive status, every day.
I just saved the old sheet as new so I wouldn't have to worry about recreating all the columns) and created the inactive sourced sheet.
The archive automation ran for the first time last night. When I went to check how the data flowed into the new inactive sheet I realized that all of my original dates had changed. A automation from the original sheet was still in the "saved as new" sheet. And it re-recorded all of the dates.
Now all of the data since 2024 to present is dated as 6/10/25.
I feel like there is no way to recover the original dates, but I'm hoping someone can help.

Try to save the old sheet as new and remember to uncheck the " Automated Workflows & Alerts". The new sheet will not have any workflows and will keep your data as original
