Add a button to open Browse/Workspaces explorer view

Am I alone in this or do other people wish there was a way to open the browse window without closing the current tab. (Don't get me started on the confusing and extremely unnecessary workspace Panel View)

Currently if I'm on a sheet/portal/workspace area and I want to find another sheet or reference, I click on browse and it closes the sheet or workspace I'm on and yanks me back out to the file explorer view.

I am constantly trying to find something, anything to open a new smartsheet window in a new tab so I can search for another file/sheet/space without losing where I was and being ripped away from where I was.

It's like, imagine I'm working on a word document and I want to reference an excel sheet, but I don't have it open. When I click on the finder or file explorer to search for it, everything I was working on closes out and deports me to closed windowville and I have to now re-open the word doc and find a way to open-in-new-window/tab the excel sheet.

I have a bookmark for this in my browser, but as the tech guy working with all the employees and trying to walk them through anything this gets exponentially more frustrating.

@Mark4555666 - Maybe something like this would work for your crew??

I use Edge and ALL my links open in New Tabs, but for the ones that are built / coded into the programs/sites (dont want to mess with those settings), i create a favorite link on my bar that will open in a new tab for me everytime. I have tested sooo many extensions, and played with the dev. settings, but nothing will force everything in a new tab, so i had to get creative for the ones i use all the time.

• Copy the URL your always wanting to open in a new tab
• Click on the Star symbol in the address bar to save it as a Favorite
• Make sure to put it on the bar that would always show (if you dont use this, this might not work for your needs then).
• I changed my labels (you can see them in the dark part of the screenshot (represents where the link goes too).
• Then make sure the browser your using forces all links in new tabs
• And there you go, each time they need to search or go back to the browser page without losing their current page they are working on, they can just use the favorites.

To force all clickable links to open in a new tab, you can use a browser extension or configure browser settings. For Firefox, you can adjust about:config settings or install an extension like Open Link in New Tab". In Chrome, extensions like "Open Multiple Links" or "LinkClump" can be used. Alternatively, middle-clicking or Ctrl+clicking a link will also open it in a new tab in most browsers.

For Firefox:

1. about:config Settings:
   • Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
   • Search for browser.link.open_newwindow and set it to 3.
   • Search for browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction and set it to 0.
2. Extension:
   • Install an extension like "Open Link in New Tab" from the Firefox Add-ons store.

For Chrome:

1. Extension:
   • Install an extension like "Open Multiple Links" from the Chrome Web Store. This extension allows you to select multiple links and open them in new tabs, according to the Chrome Web Store.
   • Another option is "LinkClump", which allows you to drag a selection box around links and open them all in new tabs.

General Methods:

• Middle-click: Most browsers and operating systems support opening links in a new tab by clicking the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) on the link, says a Reddit thread.
