Engage Conference 2025

I'm extremely excited for the conference this year. I didn't get the chance to go last year but my husband did with his company. He stated there were a lot of events within and discussions.

For anyone else that has been, what did you take away and what were your favorite part?

I want to make sure that i use my time there wisely.

Hi!

Engage is the most-engaging (for lack of a better term) conference I've ever been to.

Here are my tips:

Sit at tables and conversation areas with people you don't know. And get ready to answer "So, how do you use Smartsheet?" more times than you can imagine.
Don't be afraid to get up and leave a session if it's not what you needed or intended. You won't offend anyone.
There are livestreaming areas for sessions where the room is full. Also, they will sometimes repeat at the end of the week.
Visit the HUB as often as you can. There is plenty of swag to go around, great space for questions to be answered, and information!
Take advantage of all the receptions, parties, and after-hours events. Nothing says fun like free food and drink. Especially, if there's a dance floor!
And finally, Network. Network. Network! You will find lifelong friends. It's the best community.

Agree with @Darla Brown 100% and would add:

Wear comfortable shoes!!!! You'll be on your feet a LOT
Go to the Experience Center as much as you can. You'll get a TON from talking to people at the booths.
Check out the "Labs" whenever you can - it's a great way to see what developers are thinking and give some input.
Talk to everyone you can get to talk to you. Make connections. See how they're using Smartsheet.
Bring an empty suitcase for all the stuff you're going to bring home with you 😁

@MCorbin, My first thought after reading @Darla Brown,s list was "COMFY SHOES!" Hahaha.

@AmberEspindola In addition to Darla's #1 of being prepared to answer that question, make sure you are also asking it.

I get asked a lot how did I learn so much about Smartsheet. My simple answer is usually "The Community, coffee, and trial and (lots of) error."

Really though, the Community has helped so much because I am able to see all of the various use cases. There are so many that I would not have thought of on my own. Being able to see how other people are using Smartsheet has really opened my eys to the many possibilities. With a little creativity, you can pull bits and pieces from many different use cases to build out your own.

So I can't stress enough… Even if it seems on the surface that you won't need it because it is a different industry or role, ask that question, listen closely, and take lots of notes (all while wearing comfy shoes of course).
