How to fix Check Box mapping when generating a document via automation?

Hello,

I've created a workflow that generates a document when a certain condition is met. Everything seems to go smoothly until I open the generated PDF, and the size font and alignment are completely off for the checkmarks.

Screenshot below for reference:

Note: the larger checkmarks are from the Checkbox columns mapped from Smartsheet and the smaller checkmarks are from the original fillable PDF (which I did not map the Smartsheet columns to for comparison).

  1. I've created the fillable PDF document using the checkbox for the fill fields.
  2. I've also made the corresponding columns with column type: Checkbox in Smartsheet.
  3. I've also tried using a textbox with the PDF fonts as Wingdings 2 and Adobe Pi and a formula for the corresponding columns in the sheet to return the appropriate character that returns a checkmark. It is aligned but the characters are off.

For example: the symbol below appears instead of a checkmark (This is using the Adobe Pi font in the original fillable PDF)

I've searched for others experiencing the same thing but have no luck. I'm wondering if anyone has come across the same thing and is it possible to configure the size/alignment either via Smartsheet or Adobe?

Thank you for the help in advance!

ah ha this is a niggle in Adboe as when you created your fillable field the default for font size etc = automatic and I get anything from font 10 to 24 depending on the data.

It is an absolute pain but you need to update every field cell and change the setting to something that suits. The only good news is you can select multiple fields and update them in one go but if lots make sure you don't miss one as SOOOOO frustrating

    Highlight the field(s)

    Right click for properties

    Go to the APPEARANCE tab

Set a fixedFONT SIZE instead of the default auto

This should fix the problem. You may want a different font size for your symbols than your text.

    Good luck
