Metric chart - Pie chart - % update

Options

Hi, has something changed with the % update for Metric pie charts on dashboards, as before it was providing an option of rounding the % now its changed all my dashboard to 6.6 % etc, and the button at top has gone where I can update it to round the % off rather than actual as shown below?

Hi, yes β€” it appears there has been a recent change in how percentages are displayed in Metric (Pie) Charts on Smartsheet dashboards. Smartsheet quietly rolled out a visual and functional update that affects the formatting options for percentages in charts.

    πŸ”„ What Changed:

    • Previously, you had the option to round percentages (e.g., display β€œ7%” instead of β€œ6.6%”).
    • That rounding toggle button at the top of the chart settings (often labeled β€œRound percentages”) has now been removed or relocated.
    • The dashboard now defaults to showing raw percentage values with decimals, which impacts the visual cleanliness of Pie charts.

Create a helper column with a formula

Feed your chart from this new column instead.

Thanks for the update, its really impacted all my dashboards as to show all the % you have to make the chart really big on the screen otherwise it only shows two of the % unless you hoover over it, we should still have the choice to change, not sure what you mean but adding a helper column?

@Naeem Ejaz I've noticed the same issues. The recent changes to the dashboard, which were implemented without much notice, are quite frustrating. The removal of rounding, the placement of labels outside the charts with no adjustment options, and the inconsistent font sizes for labels all contribute to a cluttered and unprofessional appearance. It’s frustrating to have to create multiple helper columns just to enhance the data's presentation on the dashboards. Is that the only solution available right now? I hope there are more improvements planned for the future.
