Count if box is checked in one column and there is a specific month year in the Month Year Column

Month Year column is a text/number format. There is a space between Month and Year in the column title and a space between month and year in the column cells, ex: 07 2025

I have tried a number of formulas and am not finding one that yields the count. Here is the most recent one I tried:

=COUNTIFS([Month Year], "07 2025", [BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary], 1)

If you are creating cross sheet references when you create the reference, you need to select the entire column and then use the reference that is generated. If you use the Reference Another Sheet option it should paste it right into the formula for you without you needing the do anything. It will be whatever you name the area, and will be between { and }. You do not repeat it. Try:

=COUNTIFS({Rounding Tracker Range 1}, "07 2025",{Rounding Tracker Range 2}, 1)

Cross sheet references have a name and are enclosed in { and }
References to entire columns on the current sheet are [column name]:[column name]
References to the cell in a particular column on the current row are [column name]@row
References to the cell in a particular column on a specific row are [column name]1 where 1 is the row number

Bonus tip - A best practise is to name the range with something meaningful rather than the suggested "Range 1", to make it easier for you to follow the formula when you revisit it. Something like {Rounding Tracker - Month Year}.

The structure of the formula does not look correct.

[Month Year] and [BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary] are not valid. If you want to count the number of times "07 2025" appears in the column called "Month Year" then you need to reference the entire column, which is [Month Year]:[Month Year]

=COUNTIFS([Month Year]:[Month Year], "07 2025")

If you also want to only count rows where the value in the "BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary" column is "1", then you can add that as well, again using the column and repeated column name to indicate the entire column:

=COUNTIFS([Month Year]:[Month Year], "07 2025",[BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary]:[BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary], 1)

I copied the formula you provided and pasted into the cell. Unfortunately, it returns #unparseable

Copying and pasting can cause the quotation marks to convert to smart quotes rather than straight ones. Can you delete them and enter them again?

Do you have a column called "BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary"? I saw that in your original and included it. If that isn't the exact column name, it will not work.

It looks like the "Months Year" column is called "Primary Column". Try this:

=COUNTIFS([Primary Column]:[Primary Column], "07 2025", [BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary]:[BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary], 1)

Is counting rows in the current sheet (the sheet that the formula is on) where "07 2025" is in a column called "Month Year" and "1" is in a column called "BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary".

If you want to put the formula on a different sheet, then you will need to set up cross sheet references and replace [Month Year]:[Month Year] and [BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary]:[BB1 Coves EVS/Maint/Dietary]. Do that by highlighting the column reference and clicking on "Reference Another Sheet"
