Hi everyone,
We’re working on streamlining our grant review process using Smartsheet, and I wanted to share an idea that could really improve the reviewer experience — especially for those who aren’t super tech-savvy.
In our setup, students and faculty submit grant applications via a Smartsheet form, including attachments like resumes, narratives, budget worksheets, and references. These entries feed into a master sheet, and we’ve created a dashboard for our review committee to view assigned applications.
We use a report widget to show each reviewer only the applications they're responsible for. The challenge is: while the report includes all the key data, it doesn’t display the attachment icon — so reviewers can’t access uploaded documents directly from the dashboard view.
Here’s the idea: It would be incredibly helpful if Smartsheet could allow attachments to be visible or clickable directly within a report widget on a dashboard. That way, reviewers could access all application materials in one place without needing to open the underlying sheet or search elsewhere.
If anyone has found a creative workaround for this, I’d love to hear it too!
Thanks for considering this feature enhancement.
