Automating Across Sheets

Hello, Anyone up for a complicated challenge lol.

I have two sheets: "Account Tracker" and "Portal Issues"

If we run into an issue gaining portal access to an account, we log it on the Portal Issues sheet. We track progress there and once we have portal access, we check the "Resolved" column manually.

We then also manually check the "Account in Vendor Portal" column on the Account Tracker sheet.

Is it possible that when the "Resolved" column on the Portal Issues sheet is checked it automatically checks the same account on the Account Tracker sheet," Account in Vendor Portal" column.

It's not a one for one since only accounts with issues get logged on the Portal Issues sheet. The Account Number is the same across both sheets which could be used as look up data.

In my example, Row 1 on the Portal Issues sheet is the same account as Row 2 on the Account Tracker.

One possible way to do it would be to add a couple of helper columns to the Account Tracker sheet- one that checks for a corresponding entry in the Portal Issues sheet and one that is checked manually if the account is entered. Then make your Account in Vendor Portal column get checked (or change to green vs red, might cause less confusion) if either of the other two are checked. It would be a brute force approach and there is probably something more elegant, but that would certainly work.

Do you ever have portal access issues repeated on the same account?

Just asking in the event only using the Account Number as the primary key is insufficient.

Do you have a unique ID that can be used? If yes, you can use Index Match with if Statement.

IF(INDEX(checkbox, MATCH(ID,ID@row,0)) = 1 ,1,0)
