How to Add a Dynamic Ticking Clock or Timer in Smartsheet Dashboard

Hi Community,

I’m trying to include a ticking clock (or timer) in my Smartsheet Dashboard so that users can see the current time as part of the visualization.

I’ve already tried using online clock links and embedding them through the Web Content Widget, but Smartsheet doesn’t seem to support those links directly.

Is there any alternative or workaround to display a dynamic, real-time clock or timer within a Smartsheet dashboard?
For example, can this be achieved through integrations, HTML embeds, or maybe through some automation logic that updates a cell periodically?

Any suggestions or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

HI @BhagiraD,

Smartsheet does not natively support a live, ticking clock widget due to security restrictions on what can be embedded in the Web Content widget.

You can get around this using a couple different methods.

First is by creating and embedding Google Slide. You can insert a real-time, ticking clock into the Google Slide using JavaScript.

Second is a youtube live clock. Problem with this option is you would have to click the widget to start the clock.
