Form Option to Rank Drop Down Choices

It would really be helpful to be able to have a multiple choice grid option in a Smartsheet form. Several projects in my team which should have been a Smartsheet were built in google because this option wasn't available. I need a way for this to be an easy option in an intake form, without relying on update requests, dynamic view, or formulas working in the background. Thank you for this consideration.

Couldn't you set each field as a dropdown and then use the radio buttons in the form?

You could but that gets bulky so fast. I would like to be able to accomplish this with one drop down column and have participates tell us (in order) which items in the drop down are their preferred choices.

How would you envision this being output in the sheet?

I would think may have the ability to either drag and drop the options in a particular order or assign the options a ranked number next to the option?.

So all entries in a single cell but either in a specifically selected order or with the rank next to the option?

That's where I'm not sure. If we use the option where we assign values to the options that were the top choices, maybe there could be a built in feature in the sheet summary that would calculate the top choices from a sheet of data? I'm not sure how it would work but maybe the same system could work for ordering the options as well, a certain value could be applied for options appearing at the top.

So the most common use case for me would be during our Instructional Resource Selection process. After the evaluate the resource in Smartsheet using the rubric, they then use a google form to rank their favorite resources. This is how that looks in the form.

It looks like the data then splits it into multiple columns. I feel like Smartsheet could do this more efficiently somehow though, without the need to make the sheet so bulky?
