Why can't I duplicate an AI request

I created a pie chart using Analyze Data from the AI menu. The AI did exactly what I wanted with the following prompt:

Using a pie chart, represent the distribution of percent to do, percent in progress, and percent complete for the cohort 03-March 2026.

When I used that exact prompt for a different cohort, 04-April 2026, it gives me the following error:

"I wasn't able to complete that request. Please try again or rephrase your question."

Does anyone have any insight into why this might be the case and how I might get it working?

It can be any number of possibilities - you need to provide more information if you are hoping for people to help you. Off the top of my head, potential problems could be:

1. You don't have a 4/4/26 cohort at all
2. You don't have data that aligns with the noted 3 groups
3. You have an error value tied to that cohort that prevents calculation
4. The AI tool is just glitching out (it does that sometimes)

Obviously, it is your choice, but I'd recommend that you add more detail to your question - some sample data, a picture, notes about what you've tried, any formulas in your sheet that might be relevant, screenshots with sensitive data redacted, etc.

Personally, for something that straightforward, I'd recommend the use of formulas to count and sum the relevant data and making the graph you want manually instead of relying on the AI tool at all.
