I wanted to discuss how AI-driven input methods, especially voice, could simplify everyday tasks and update workflows in Smartsheet.
In many project environments, updates, action items, or follow-ups arise during meetings, calls, or brief discussions. These are often added to Smartsheet later, which can lead to delays, missed details, or extra admin work.
One approach we’ve been exploring is using AI-powered voice input via integrations with tools like Gennie, where users can speak updates naturally and have them reflected in Smartsheet. At the same time, Smartsheet remains the system of record.
Potential use cases include:
- Adding new rows or tasks using voice
- Updating status, owners, or due dates hands-free
- Capturing meeting action items in real time
- Reducing context switching during project execution
