I am using control center / Blueprint to provision new projects. For clarification, we have a set of 8 templates that whenever we start a new project, the Control Center/BluePrint process creates a new project folder, copies in the templates, adds rows to 2 other sheets and establishes the links from our project folder’s summary sheet into those other smartsheets.
The linking of the summary sheet fields works great as long as it is text or a number. What doesn’t work is if the linked field is a URL or Hyperlink. For context, we have a standard status report (consists of 1 SS and 1 Report) that are part of our template library. Within our metadata sheet that contains the SUMMARY fields that during provisioning are automatically linked, I have a summary field that represents the status report URL. After the project is provisioned, the URL value in this summary field still points back to the template library version. It’s not being updated to reflect the specific report within the new project’s folder. If I open the report directly within the newly provisioned project folder, is reflects all the correct information (aka the new project name etc).
My temporary solution is after the project is provisioned, I copy/update the newly created report URL value into the summary/metadata sheet with the correct value. Since it is a manual step, I’d like to avoid that. Does anyone know if this functionality exists and I’m doing something wrong or maybe it doesn’t exist.
