There should be an option for an Admin of a dashboard to be able to request access to the smartsheet/metric sheet that dashboard is pulling the data from.
So, for example, my colleague X uses smartsheet 1 to pull data into Dashboard 1. Now, I am working on the dashboard 1 as Admin, with no access to smartsheet 1. But when I click the edit pencil on the dashboard's widget to see what metric sheet/smartsheet is used, I should be able to view the sheet and request access from there (little window that shows the sheet).
Not a viewer should be able to see that and request access. But an Admin should be able to do that.
Now what happens when this owner X leaves the team or worse, leaves the company without transferring access to anyone else? This is another can of worms. But I feel it is somehow related. I have been facing these issues for the last 4 years in my team.
As a resolution we copy the dashboard and metric sheets and become owners, archiving the old ones. But it is not an ideal solution. Feel free to post any other workarounds please.
