Annual/Recurring Tasks

Hi all!

I am trying to create a recurring due date for annual tasks. Currently, I have columns for Due Date, Next Due Date, Status, and Annual? checkbox. Ideally, when the Due Date is in the past and the Status is "Completed", I would like the row to essentially reset to "Not Started" and a Due Date of the same date + one year (e.g. 4/1/26 would become 4/1/27). Any ideas of how to make this work or other ways to create recurring annual tasks?

You could use a combination of a helper formula and an automation.Add a helper column (Next Due Date – Calculated) and use a formula like:=IF(AND(Status@row = "Completed", [Annual?]@row = 1), DATE(YEAR([Completed Date]@row) + 1, MONTH([Completed Date]@row), DAY([Completed Date]@row)), "")Then set up an automation to record completed date when status changes to Completed.Alternatively, you could create a new row for each year's recurring task. (e.g. task 1 due 2026, task 1 due 2027 etc). It may take some more time to set up, but this way you're not overwriting prior year data and can easily go back and see the history of the task completed each year.
