Abnormal Display of Hyperlink Content in Notification Emails

Our team has encountered an issue while using Smartsheet. We have applied the Hyperlink function in a data management sheet to link the Quote ID to the corresponding sheet. This hyperlink is integrated into the automation workflow of Approval Requests. When a requester initiates the approval flow, the hyperlink content will be sent to approvers via notification email.

We have noticed the hyperlink displayed in the email is inconsistent with the content shown in the Smartsheet sheet:

* The entry SQ26021461-1 under the Quote ID column is set as a hyperlink, but it does not appear as a link in the email.
* The Case ID column entry is not set as a hyperlink, yet it is shown in highlighted/clickable format in the email.

I have attached an additional screenshot for your reference, showing the actual status of these lines in the Smartsheet sheet.

This issue has persisted for around one week. Could you please advise if there is a solution to fix this problem?

Hi all,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've determined that hyperlinks not working in notification emails is caused by a bug and our Product team is working on a resolution. We are not able to provide a time-frame on how long the resolution could take but we are doing our best in order to have this fixed as soon as possible.

I had tried to add them in the message and also choose them as Specific fields, but it still did not work.

I might try just putting the hyperlink directly into the notification message itself instead of putting it as sheet fields at the bottom of the email-

Something like this:

Use {{ColumnName}} to add to the message. You can try that for both the Quote ID and the Case ID and see if that fixes it. Putting Case ID in the message itself should as least ensure that one is not a hyperlink.

I'll note that the hyperlink might not work within the message if it is not a full URL… so Quote ID might still need to go in the fields at the bottom of the notification. Or you could try changing it to the full URL and see if that works.
