It would be helpful if Smartsheet prompted users about the impact on asset ownership and access at the time of plan cancellation.
I recently faced a situation where I cancelled my plan for a period of time and later purchased another plan using the same email/account. However, after reactivation, my existing assets became read-only, and I had to go through support to regain access.
Since the account/email remains the same, it would make sense for users to either:
- retain ownership/access automatically upon reactivation, or
- at minimum, receive a very clear warning and guided steps before cancellation regarding what will happen to their assets.
There can be many cases where individuals or teams use Smartsheet intermittently based on active projects and may temporarily discontinue subscriptions during inactive phases. The current experience can create unnecessary confusion and disruption.
A proactive warning, better explanation of consequences, and a smoother reactivation experience would significantly improve the user experience.
