Based on a 2023 discussion post on here, it seems like I would need to manually change the name each week if you need that content in the title. Has "Add Date (Dynamic Element) in the Name of the Automated Reports" been added since it was first requested in 2023?
Hi @dschroeder,
No, I don't believe it has, but here is a work-around that may help.
Add a Sheet Summary Field to your report's source sheet (e.g. "Report Name" with a formula that equals a suitable report title and today's date (e.g. = "Automated Report Title " + TODAY(), which will display "Automated Report Title 05/13/26".
Create a dashboard, add the automated report to the dashboard as a report widget, without including the Title (its generic report name), just show the column headings.
Above the report, add a Metrics widget that looks up the Sheet Summary Field in the source sheet for the report name. Edit the widget to remove the field name (e.g. "Report Name") and format it large enough as a report title.
In this way each time the dashboard is viewed/printed, it will contain the correct date for that data set.
Thank you, Adrian, for your prompt response! If I am understanding correctly, it can only be done right now in dashboards, correct? Unfortunately, we have this set up through Reports using the "Send as Attachment" feature to be an automated monthly email sent out.
