Hey Smartsheet Community ποΈ
Over the years I've found that one of the biggest challenges with Enterprise Smartsheet deployments isn't building solutions - it's creating a repeatable architecture that scales.
I currently use a simple model that I devised a little while ago:
Store β Compile datasets in a standardised, secure, and compliant way (see GDPR)
Sieve β Transform raw data using row/summary reports, and pivots (metric sheets)
Serve β Deliver a tailored UX through dashboards, safe-sharing forms, and WorkApps
This model has proved effective in communicating with and achieving buy-in with non-technical stakeholders, no matter the scale of the project.
Behind the scenes, I then use Workspaces as the data wrapper. Each workspace is defined against a unique set of user group permissions. (e.g. viewer, editor). This helps keep the list of workspaces to a minimum. This is helpful as Smartsheet is served to ~1,000 employees across UK.
I'm curious whether others have developed their own architectural patterns, frameworks, or design principles when building Smartsheet solutions at scale.
What does your Smartsheet architecture look like?
