Automatically Setting a Future Date Based on Criteria

Is there a way in Smartsheet to automatically default a date column to 30 days in the future based on certain criteria? For example, if Column A has a value but Column B is left blank, can Column B be set to automatically populate with a date 30 days from today?

I tried creating an automation where the trigger is when Column A is added or changed, and the action is ‘Record a date.’ However, it only allows me to set the current date and time, not a custom offset like 30 days in the future.

Is there a workaround for this, or any alternative approach?

In the example below, I set the automation to record a date (today's date) to the column C.

Then, in column B, I have the following formula to get 30 days in the future.

B - Workday  =IF(ISDATE(C@row), WORKDAY(C@row, 30))
B - +30      =C@row + 30

If you want to elaborate on the criteria for the future date, for example, if A is 'In Progress', 10 days and 30 days, if A is 'Not Started', you just adjust the formula with IF clauses.
