Hi!

Currently the conditionial format of gantt Chart bars is limited to the format option "entire row".

As we use the entire row format for visualize the sheet structure (levels), it would be nice to have also the bar Color depending on a single column.

Kind regards

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Try editing your conditional formatting rule by clicking entire row while in the Conditional Formatting window. You'll be able to select individual columns (or multiple columns).

You can also click this format to make sure you're applying a specific Gantt bar formatting.

Details on this are available in the help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/516359-conditional-formatting

  • Hi Shain,

    thank you for your answer.

The idea was to give the bar a specific color, when only one or two columms are formated, not the entire row.

    Kind regards

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Oh, gotcha. You may be able to accomplish this with multiple rules. Just a rough idea if what I'm thinking:

Rule #1: When something changes, add this format to one column in the row.

Rule #2: When something changes AND something else changes, add this format (including gantt bar color) to two columns in the row.

You can click the down arrow next to a conditional formatting rule and select Add Condition to have a rule that needs more than one change before it triggers.

Let me know if you have any questions on this.
