Hi All,
I have been trying to add a new task to my worksheet but can't seem to get it to work. I have tried simply copying and pasting and using the indent / outdent functions with no luck. The basic template only has a standard 3 tasks and I need a few more.
Regards
Andy
Andy,
What happens when you highlight a row and then right-click to add a new row above or below the one you highlighted?
Matt
Hi Matt,
I can add a new row, but what I need is a task. Can't seem to get it to work correctly with the indent functions and thought there would be an easier way.
Can you share a screenshot of what you're experiencing? I'm not quite sure I fully understand the issue. Thanks!
See attached, so just trying to add another task like the first 3 above but can not find an easy solution.
Andy, there is not a "task button" so to speak. You simply add a row and enter the data into your cell in the column you designate as your task. I hope this helps....
Thanks I've kind of got it work I wanted the overarching like the 3 that come in the template.
Andy, check out this article from our help center on setting up hierarchies: http://help.smartsheet.com/customer/portal/articles/504734-hierarchy-indenting-outdenting-rows
To set this up, add the text for your parent row (such as Policy beginning, and Policy Implementation) then add the text for your child row(s) directly under it (such as Round table stakeholder engagement). Next select your child row(s) and press the Indent button on your toolbar.
I am having the same issue reported by others. There is no way to intuitively create a new high level task set. The indent help instructions do not address my concern. Is the rest of the system this opaque?
