Is there a way to add a format to an entire column so that it automatically includes a dollar sign and a decimal place without having to click the currency button everytime?
Hello,
Thanks for this question! If you select those two formatting options after clicking on the column header (this will select the whole column), you'd see that format automatically in every row added after this and you wouldn't need to click the formatting buttons each time.
You can find further information on this at our Help Center here.
Please let me know if you have further questions on this or if you're looking for something else!
Kind regards,
AlisonSmartsheet Support
Thank you! Works perfectly
Hi, I am trying to fix PLN currency which is not available in Smartsheet.
I have found such a discussion in arichves from 2017 with an advice that it shall be typed manually.
The Question is:
Is there any way to format cell so it displays the currency & value in the way that it could be calculated & automated as numbers / values with defined currencies ?
Kind regards, Piotr

Which 2 formatting options???????
Hi @npiper
You can find the $ Currency Formatting and .00 Decimal Formatting in the top toolbar of your sheet. If they're not immediately visible, you may need to click "..." to see More:

@Genevieve P. I have a smartsheet where the #'s ($'s actually on a bid form) were entered via Dynamic View. We find that the source document now has all the #'s however, they are formatted as text and cannot be 'SUM'd.
Is there a way to change format from 'text' to 'currency'? I have googled and came up with nothing yet.
Hi @PeggyLang
It sounds like the $ sign was manually entered into the cell, which would translate your numbers into text values. The easiest thing to do may actually be to write a formula to strip out that "$" symbol and return values in a second column:
=VALUE(SUBSTITUTE([Dollar Values]@row, "$", ""))
Hello, I'm seeing this error for the first time as I expand some capability in an existing workflow. Here's how this section with the error works. I have a task that started in Sept and ends in Feb. I need to assign it to someone else, but do not want to lose the history of the first employee. How do I do this?
Starting a couple of days ago, I started getting 2 or more emails a day about my account being activated. I have a monthly subscription but have never received this type of email from Smartsheet. The email looks legitimate - the sender is "reply_to@Smartsheet .com" - except for maybe the greeting, which is "Dear Customer".…
