Updating exciting sheet with imported data

I'm building a report on a sheet, I'm looking to update this sheet with imported data weekly so the reports will update automatically. I can't seem to update the existing sheet with an import or have the ability to save over the sheet.

is there a way of either, importing data into an exisiting sheet or being able to save over an existing sheet?

Have you tried copying and pasting from your original source into the Smartsheet?

I would but my data has more than 500 rows and 50 columns so it becomes a pain to do a copy and past

J. Craig's solution of importing and moving or copying the rows from the new import might be easier than copying from the source file.

Craig's solution is nice and quick but if you need to connect your Excel sheets directly with Smartsheet you will need to involve an outside App, like Appsheet or maybe Zapier or even an API? Depends on your precise need and the benefits of setting up some form of automation?

The pain has to be worth the gain? So How important is this to your data Integrity and consistency without errors of Copy paste?

Happy to discuss if there is sufficient need?
