Search Function
Comments

Yep. Having the same issue here as well.
Use CTRL+SHIFT+ F to get the old capability back

Good question! The Find function will only find data visible on your sheet. It will not find data in hidden, filtered, or collapsed rows/columns.
As Jeff mentioned, the search functionality still exists by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+F or by clicking in the Search box at the top left of the app.

I experienced the same thing. I like the replace function but question the need to have two search functions. I would rather have the more complicated search CTRL+SHIFT+F be for replace if required. But how about just having a replace check box or no replace if left blank. I use CTRL-F all the time for searching filtered rows. In the meantime, I guess we have the workaround.

Hi Hub, you dont have to replace when using find. If you just want to find, then leave 'Replace with" blank and select Find Next.
-
That's good to know. So if you just restored the original search function to search all rows (just like CTRL+SHIFT+F, then you wouldn't have the need for the two functions. My point was that CTRL F was working fine before. Having the replace function is great, but just leave it blank if you don't want to use it. Then get rid of CTRL+SHIFT+F. I appreciate the fast reponse.

I have tried the 'find replace' using various key strokes and views.
Find, yes, but NO REPLACE. And how to save the search, not just go to each entry? I have tried highlighting the found data.
No other workaround? Cannot substitute by creating a report to perform this same search
Have I somehow disabled this feature?
-
J R, it is not possible to disable the replace feature. Could you provide a little more information about how you are trying to use this feature and where you are having trouble? It may be useful to include screenshots to help illustrate the issue.
Here is a Help Center article on Find & Replace: http://help.smartsheet.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2115655-find-replace
Thanks!

Is it possible to search / replace with mixed case sensitivity?
We have items were we need to preserve their case. We do the replacements in a template that contains unix paths.
