Noah - It’s likely you have some program running on your computer which is causing interference with the application.
We have seen this specific behavior with users that have Caffeine installed on their computers. Caffeine is a tool that keeps your computer from falling asleep or activating the screensaver. I would check to see if you have Caffeine installed or if this is a new issue, check any program you have installed recently.
If you discover which application is causing this, let us know!

Hello,
I have this problem too. I'll check to see if I have caffeine or a similar program.

Hello,
I ran this by our IT team and we don't have Caffeine software installed - or anything of this nature (we just use PC settings), so it's unlikely to be this. Also, it's unlikely to be another program as I've had nothing installed around the time this started happening. I am on Chrome 43 on Windows 7 and use the software on this browser (not an independent App).
Can you help at all?
Thanks,
Kate

Hi Kate, try using a different web browser such as Firefox and check if you see the same behavior.

Hello, I could try this but I tend to use Chrome as I use Google services so it's best as my preferred browser. I am little reluctant to use a new browser just for Smartsheet, plus I would have thought as a online software you should be able to use it on all browsers.
Is this a known problem that you are working on?

Kate - This is not a known problem so I would like to troubleshoot with you to help us determine what might be causing this (the only time we have seen this is when users have Caffeine or a similar program installed). I suggested trying a new browser so we can tell if this is something related to your web browser or your computer. Chrome is consistently the best browser for using Smartsheet and I would encourage you to continue to use it. I would like you to try a new browser just for testing purposes to help us narrow down the cause.

Disabling Caffeine worked for me as I had the same problem. I also agree Chrome is much faster than IE 11.

Hi Travis,
I tried using a different browser and it still seems to exibit this behavior. Others at my company are experiencing this issue as well but it is not affecting everyone. Also, I do not have caffein installed on my computer. -
Noah - if you have tried multiple browsers and multiple users at your company are having this issue, then its likely something on your (and your coworkers) computer. Do you have a personal computer at home? If so, try logging into Smartsheet on your personal computer on your home network and see if you experience the same issue.
Likely, you will not see the same issue when using your personal computer. If you dont see this on your personal computer, then I would check with your company IT group and ask them what program or hardware might be causing this to happen (sometimes mice and their drivers can cause strange behaviors).
