Customer updates
Hey Gang. Hope all is well!
So I am trying to make an intergration happen and I believe there are a couple different ways to do this, but I need help starting.
So I have a smart sheet with all my customers orders on it. I am a Gunsmith and as the firearm gets it's proper service or repair, we update certain columns of the sheet as needed.
Here is what I would like to happen.
I would like the customer to either have a login the the back end of my website or even a search feature that would allow them to see the updates of their order. But I don't want them to see the whole sheet.
I was thinking about using zapier but I cant find a way to populate my ssquarespace page with the propoer information.
I know this is a lot and maybe too big a task to solve here. But I would at least like a nudge in the right direction.
I am thankful for any suggestions!

Do you want each customer to have a list each or can it be combined on one and then the could use find to find the correct information?

Hey Andre thank you for the reply.
I was trying to use Zapier to some how Populate a Squarespace page with specific row information but I realize that might be way harder.What I could possibly do is create just a link or portal from my website to the smartsheet. But i cant have customers seeing the other orders or other sensative information.
I there a customized version of the sheet that I could show that doesnt look like a spreadsheet?
I guess is what i'm trying to figure out.

How many different customers?
How many columns and rows?

So appreciated.
We only have one sheet so really we only have one type of customer.
Every customer or job number has their own row.
I would only like know to see three different columns.
1. The Status column of the repair
2. The gunsmith notes column
3. And the name of the Gunsmith who's actually servicing the firearm column
Every row/customer has a unique cust# if that helps at all.

Would it work if you could send updates automatically to the customer when something changes?

It would be an email but it could probably be set up to send by text also. I would recommend trying to keep it as email because it's easier to set up.

Great!
Yes, you'll need to add a column for the customer's e-mail address. Also, you'll need to add Alert & Action rules if you want to automate the process.

Hey andree!
So I created a column where I can put in email address of the customer. Then I made the alert that anytime that column changes that the customers email would be notifed. Well, I used my email as a test and when I chance the cell nothing happens. meaning I dont get and email update at all.
The rule looks good but i'm not doing it right obviosly.
Is there a video walkthrough of this? -

Is the column a contact column because it has to be otherwise it won't work.
Can you upload some screenshots of the Alerts & Actions and settings?
