Thanks Craig. I've read other threads about this limitation and was pretty bummed.
I've voted it up as a feature enhancement. Hopefully, with enough votes, the feature will be added in the near future.

One more thing - not all drops down lists should have this feature.
Users will break things in unexpected ways if the sheet designer is not careful.
Please let the developers know this needs to be configurable.
Let the debate begin on which way should be the default.
