Lock column in report

How can I lock a column in a report?

 

When I right-click a column in a report, I don't see the "Lock column" option.

Hi Matt, reports will take locked rows/column premissions from the sheet the columns are located in. If you would like a column locked in a report, lock it in the sheet.

Thanks, Travis.  Can you point me to where you found this information?

 

I'll send Smartsheet a suggestion to display the lock icon in reports when the corresponding column is locked in the sheet.

 

I couldn't tell the columns in the Report were locked because no lock icon is displayed and I was able to edit those columns in the Report (presumably because I am the Owner/Admin for the sheet and the report.)

Hi Matt, when you attempt to edit a cell in a report that is in a locked column or row you will get a message telling you the cell is locked, if you are an Editor (and cannot edit locked cells).

I believe that the Lock row option should be visible in a report.  Why/  I have a number of clients that want to be able to lock rows once the activity on the row is complete.  A good and efficient way to do this as the rows can only be locked by Administrators or owners is a report on all row where status is complete or other suitable criteria.

The Administrator could the periodically run the report, Daily, Weekly as suits, Select all rows in the report and Right Mouse and choose Lock Rows.

This could easily be achieved by adding the column into the view.
