As Craig mentioned, this is not possible at the moment but I will submit this request to our Product team!

Hi,
Has the auto lock function been release?
Thanks.

Please add my vote for a formula to lock rows.
My company uses a sheet to conform parts which are audited.
It would be very useful to be able to lock a row that a person has conformed so that it cannot be changed by anyone else working on the sheet.
IF cell = XXX THEN lock row type formula

+1 Vote for automated row and column locking.

I, too, need row/col locking through formulas. Thank you.
edit - it would also nice to be able to lock/unlock through the API

Hello Everyone,
You can now automatically lock rows when certain conditions have been met; details on this feature are available in our help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476686-lock-rows-automatically-to-preserve-data
NOTE: This feature is available to Business and Enterprise customers only.

Hello Everyone.
I'm wondering if there is a way to lock a row in such a way that in a sheet shared to a viewer, the viewer cannot use drop downs.
Is this possible?
-
Hello,
Viewers aren't able to make changes to a sheet whatsoever.
If you're sharing a sheet to someone with Viewer permissions, they won't be able to use dropdowns.

Hi Craig,
If your Product Mangement team can add the feature to lock an attirbute (column) after an approval or decline this would be a great enhancement. Specifically, I have built a workflow which requires Approvals and once approved, they do not necessarily want another user to come in and edit the "Approved" status. The status should only be modified by the Column Owner (i.e., the Approver). That would be the exception to the business case.
Appreciate your help in forwarding this to Product.
Best,
Tania

Is there a way to lock all other rows, until currently being worked row is corrected?
Example:
1. a task has been completed. The modifier will check the checkbox column labeled "complete" and they dont update the end date column with a date
I would like to lock all other rows in sheet until this row is updated with a end date
