Freeze date
Is there a way to freeze a date =today() if a date field is controlled by a check box field once 24 hours passes? If check box checked = today.
Excel suggests using vba. I am not certain if there is a way in SS to do this type of function without the date changing.
Thoughts...suggestions?

Dean,
Check out this thread:

and let us know if that is what you are looking for.
I think it might be close, but there is a nuance to your wording that may require more clarification.

Thank you. I will investigate.

Good morning.
Just to let Craig and others know who are trying to accomplish the same thing.....Criag's idea does indeed work well for freezing a date.
Thanks,
Dean

Update:
I do this now using Zapier (www.zapier.com)
I have a Zap that watches for an empty date column and a completion check box - when the check box is checked by the user, today's date is entered into the date column.
Later, if someone makes another change elsewhere in the row, which triggers the Zap, it does not do anything because the date column is not empty.
